Electric car sales in Australia are increasing and interest in the latest technology is very strong, especially in northwest NSW which has one of the largest concentrations of renewables in Australia.

Inverell and Glen Innes Wind and Solar Farms

Almost 1.5 Giga Watts of wind and solar energy generation is planned and under construction between Inverell and Glen Innes.  On completion, the Inverell and Glen Innes Wind and Solar Farms will be the largest concentration of renewables in NSW, possibly the largest concentration of renewables in all Australia.

These renewable energy works are strategically located along the National Electricity Grid delivering power into southern Queensland, NSW, and beyond.  Sapphire Wind Farm is supplying 100MW of renewable power to the ACT under agreement.

Uralla Z-Net project

The Uralla community is leading the world towards a sustainable renewable energy future.  It is one of the first Australian communities striving towards achieving zero net energy usage and become 100% renewable.

Nearby communities at Moree , Narrabri and Kentucky

Moree is only 135kms to the west of Inverell and the Moree solar farm generates about 70 MW.  A new solar farm is planned at Narrabri and a new Wind Farm is planned at Kentucky near Uralla.
